the wise lady, panel#10
My final panel for Burien Arts Vision 20/20 fundraiser for arts programing here in Burien, Â Washington.
Artists from around the Burien / Des Moines / Tacoma / Seattle area chosen for Vision 20/20 area are asked to produce 10 individual original works of art using the media of their choice (no photography, unfortunately). These all have to fit an 8×8 in. square format that is either done on, or mounted on the 8×8 in. cleated and numbered panels supplied to each artist by Burien Arts.
The 400+ panels prepared by the artist are hung on large free standing 4×8 ft. walls using a French cleating system. The larger pieces for the silent auction are displayed on easels around the perimeter of the show with bid sheets attached. The Vision 20/20 patrons arrive at the show and enjoy wine and appetizers while previewing the art work and talking to the artists. The really unique part of the event comes at approximately 7:30 PM when a bell is rung and everyone takes the pieces of art they want from the walls! This works very well since all the art on the 400 panels is the same price ($40) it boils down to a frenzy of active buying! The successful bids for the Silent Auction pieces are announced before the end of the evening.
The event will happen on November 19, 2016 6:30pm-10pm at the Burien Community Center.
