Dad

My father Harold Mansmith passed away on Sunday May 19th he was 75 years old.

I grew up with him fixing everything around the house, digging a pool to replacing an engine in a car to making an apartment for our great grandma in the basement. He would ask me on a Friday night do you want the car and here is some money to have fun with. He might not have understood his son growing up to become a maker and creative but he always supported my efforts.
I will always be grateful to him.

Love you Dad.

we find ourselves with the overgrown laurel, the stoic pine, the shy maple, the sharp blackberry, the pretty lilac, the willful locust and the helpful camellia… and we are grateful.

Eight Doorways, a site specific installation at The Maverick Art space in downtown Burien Washington. Over almost three months I created work at my home studio and at the space. While I was working in the space I had a few really wonderful conversations, so grateful for that. Thanks to The Burien Parks and Recreation and The Maverick for this wonderful opportunity to share what I do with the community that I live in. The installation will be on display until March 31st. Best time to go see it is in the evening.
