Hyde Park Art Center and Green Lantern Press Publications

GLP-Books-for-HPAC-webpage-_8

Hyde Park Art Center publications complement our exhibitions program, often while producing the first-ever monograph catalog of a Chicago artist’s work. Since 1945, we have generated over seventy publications that range from black-and-white booklets to substantial perfect bound books and everything in between. Art Center’s publications are dedicated to increasing scholarship and writing on contemporary art, providing quality documentation, and representing a diverse range of experimental art practices generated in Chicago.

In 2022, the Art Center integrated Green Lantern Press (GLP), the small independent Chicago-based publishing platform, into its existing publications program.  The merger of the two organizations continues the legacy of work that GLP passionately and effectively stewarded since 2005 and simultaneously increases the Art Center’s capacity to invest in publications that document, reflect upon, and contribute to the work of Chicago artists and art writers.
