I am a visual artist, photographer and educator based in Chicago. My projects focus on people, place and social issues.  I’m very open to working on different kinds of commissions with people.  While I’d ideally love to work on a commissioned piece that is an expansion of or related to one of my ongoing projects, I’m also more than happy to work on a unique portrait commission or work that resembles or references one of my other projects.  While I’m primarily a working artist and educator I do have a background in editorial and commercial photography which is still part of my overall freelance practice.  My approach with any potential commissions would be to have conversation about what caught the eye of the person(s) who are interested in commissioning me and find a way to make a work that not only the person(s) commissioning the work enjoys but also makes sense within my larger practice.  As my practice is very broad and varied, I imagine there is a lot of room for a collaborative experience with any commission should people be interested.  I’m also just as comfortable working on a project that is much more driven by my interests and projects as well.
