Artist and art educator, Charo Garaigorta addresses the interweaving of time, movement and memory of place as experienced through the body in her layered and dynamic artwork. She will be in residence in Chicago to research a new project and create a site-responsive installation in Gallery 1 for the exhibition Health Club.
Over the past 25 years, Charo Garaigorta’s drawings, sculptures, animations and installations have been exhibited in museums and institutions internationally. Her work has been show at the Bronx Museum, Hessel Museum of Art at Bard College, and Art in General in New York, Sala Rekalde and La Taller in Bilbao, Casa de America in Madrid, Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará in Fortaleza (Brazil), and the Institute Cervantes in Delhi, India.
She is currently the Head of Education and Programs for the Public at Artium, Basque Center Museum of Contemporary Art, Spain.
