Selma Banich
From Zagreb, Croatia, Selma Banich is an artist, social activist, community organizer, wageworker and a happy housewife based in Zagreb, Croatia. She has made work independently and in collaboration with other artists, curators, groups, and initiatives in the Balkans, across Europe and in the US. Her work ranges from self-performed actions and interventions in public space to large-scale public performances. She has been previously engaged in numerous dance, theater and opera productions as a choreographer and also performs on film. Her artistic practice is based on research and activist work, and politically inspired by anarchism and radical feminism.
