About Hyde Park
Hyde Park is a unique Chicago neighborhood, located on the southside shores of Lake Michigan, it is home to a wide array of arts, culture, restaurants, and architecture. The section of Hyde Park along 53rd and 55th close to the Art Center, is a hub for the neighborhood with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants. After visiting the Art Center, grab a coffee & sandwich downstairs at Bridgeport Coffee and take a stroll down 55th to Promontory Point for some fresh air and one of the most beautiful views of Chicago, afterwards head back down 53rd for some fresh fashion finds and general shopping in the area.
Promontory Point Park
Alfred Caldwell, a student of Jens Jensen, designed the Point featuring a raised “meadow” section in the center of the 12-acre peninsula including hundreds of flowering trees and shrubs, perfect for an afternoon lunch, evening stroll, or day time contemplation.
Robie House
Completed in 1910, the Robie House is the consummate expression of Wright’s Prairie style. As the last of Wright’s true Prairie houses, the Robie House synthesizes all of the major innovations of Wright’s design philosophy.
