The Advocates Giving Group

Hyde Park Art Center is assembling a group of Advocates for its programs. The group’s goals are:

Raise financial support through a “give/get” approach that will ensure the Art Center can continue to deliver programs for youth, teen, and adult artists while deepening their impact

Increase visibility of Hyde Park Art Center’s work, particularly among the residents of Hyde Park and Kenwood, or your own community

Advocates' Impact

The Advocates’ support makes art possible for hundreds of artists and art learners every year. In 2021, the group raised over $250,000 from 50 individuals for the Art Center’s programs. The Advocates’ generosity strengthens all aspects of the Art Center’s work through two overarching initiatives:

Increase access to arts education through Open Arts, a suite of contribute-what-you-can art classes for all ages and skill levels, Teen Programs, and in-school arts education for CPS students.

Invest deeply in Chicago artists by providing resources to create new work, removing financial barriers to professional development, and providing space to create in the Jackman Goldwasser Residency

Advocates' Support

Hyde Park Art Center invites you to join the Advocates and support its arts education and contemporary art programs by:

Making an annual gift of $2,500-$10,000; and

Recruiting others to join the Advocates (optional). We will work with you to determine how you can get involved, but some examples include:

  • Hosting an event, coffee, or happy hour to introduce the Art Center’s programs to your friends and network.
  • Helping connect the Art Center with others who should know about its programs.

Benefits of Joining the Advocates

In appreciation for joining the group, the Art Center is pleased to offer the following benefits:

Recognition of your contribution onsite, online, and in the Art Center’s biannual newsletter;

An invitation to at least one signature Advocates’ event per year, such as the Teen Exhibition Tour

Exclusive updates about the Art Center’s exhibitions, residencies, and arts education programs for youth, teens, and adults; and

An invitation to the Art Center’s annual Donor Appreciation Event and other exclusive events.
